Lovell Motorsports
was founded
in 2001 for the purpose of building and racing stock cars in various
configurations.
Super Late Model
Our original endeavor focused on the class called
"Super Late Model" and we competed in the ROMCO Super Late
Model Series thru the 2004 season. We were
fortunate to catch the eye of one of the series original racers who
provided guidance and encouragement during the later half of the 2004
season.
The result was 3 top 10 finishes and 11th place in ROMCO
Championship
Points. Our special thanks to Tommy Grimes (#22)
and his crew for their
support.
For 2005 we shed the white and red '99 Taurus body
and went to the 2005 Grand Prix body. The 2005 rules required we change
to a body conforming to the  which the '99 did not.
Shortly before the 2005 season began, the ROMCO series was
purchased and renamed USRA.
We competed in the
USRA Super Late Model Series in 2005 but missed several races due to
mechanical problems. Due to an abbreviated schedule from USRA in 2006,
our primary focus shiften to rebuilding the race car and the
construction of
our race shop.
For 2008 we plan to compete in the USLMA series and the
Blizzard series
as time and funds permit.
Late Model
During the Summer of 2007 we purchased a Late
Model from
a local racer. After some refurbishing, a
quick paint
job and numerous setup trips to the track we competed in the last 3
races for the Texas
Super Racing Series (TSRS). Over the winter
we purchased a 2008 Dodge Charger ABC Body for the Late Model and are campaigning it in
TSRS for 2008.
The Race Shop
Early in 2008 we finished
erecting the walls, roof
and door for the race shop. There's still plenty to do
(electrical outlets, air outlets, more lighting, additional heating and
cooling.) In addition, in late 2007 we were given a 4 post
lift and it needs to be installed.
